KAKADBHITTA, March 26 - Nine Nepali-speaking candidates were elected to Bhutan’s National Assembly on Monday. They are all from the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT), the party led by former Bhutanese prime minister Jigme Y Thinley.

Of the nine, Lila Pradhan is the sole woman. She has been elected from Samchi district with 4,592 votes.

All four constituencies of the southern district, mostly inhibited by Nepali speakers, saw the victory of the Nepali-speaking candidates. The other victors in the district are Thakur Singh Poudel, Durga Prasad Chhetri and Pralhad Gurung.

LIPANG VILLAGE, Nepal-China border (AFP) — China has deployed security personnel inside neighbouring Nepal to keep an eye out for protests by pro-Tibetan groups, Nepali officials have said.

Plain-clothes Chinese officers could be seen on Saturday on the Nepali side of the border with Tibet, and even blocked an AFP correspondent and photographer from working on Nepali soil near the main border crossing with Chinese-controlled Tibet.

So Pakistani people have shown the world that no form of autocracy is acceptable and democracy is loved forever and always. President Musarraf supported party PML-Q have lost.

This government is proving to be useless. It can't provide basic needs to people. There's no security, power cuts is so frequent and there's no petrolium products, no cooking gas.

US is gripped with the election fever. The road to Whitehouse 2008 is wide open. Among the democrats, Hilary Clinton and Barak Obama are locked to get nominations.

ok, so government once again and street are on fire. Our democratic Government seems not in mood to give some respite to our population.
